This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 4000000 - Rs 5000000 (ie INR 40-50 LPA) Min Experience: 8 years Location: Bengaluru JobType: full-time We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Lead to drive end-to-end engineering execution in a fast-paced, product-focused environment. This is a founding-level role where you will work closely with leadership to translate product priorities into high-quality, production-ready software. You will balance technical depth with execution ownership—leading sprint planning and delivery while actively contributing to coding, debugging, and architectural decisions. This role demands proximity to the work, ensuring that systems are built correctly, scaled effectively, and shipped on time. You will play a key role in shaping engineering practices, improving team performance, and building a strong execution culture. Key Responsibilities Own engineering delivery by planning sprints, setting timelines, and ensuring consistent, high-quality releases Drive execution by closely tracking progress, identifying risks early, and ensuring timely delivery of product milestones Actively contribute to development by debugging production issues, reviewing code, and unblocking engineering challenges Collaborate across teams to align algorithmic development with platform capabilities and system architecture Participate in deep technical discussions, including algorithm design, system integration, and performance optimization Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and maintainability through strong engineering practices and infrastructure awareness Conduct thorough code reviews and gate checks before deployments to maintain high quality standards Continuously improve team processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions without unnecessary overhead Provide clear, actionable feedback to engineers, helping them grow while maintaining accountability Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence within the team What Makes You a Great Fit 7–10 years of experience in software engineering, with proven experience leading small to mid-sized engineering teams Strong proficiency in Python, with the ability to work on algorithm-heavy codebases Demonstrated experience building and scaling production systems with a focus on reliability and performance Hands-on mindset with the willingness to code, debug, and solve problems alongside the team Solid understanding of system design, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure fundamentals Exposure to engineering domains such as CAD, manufacturing systems, or similar technical ecosystems is highly valuable Ability to understand complex technical problems and challenge assumptions with practical insights Experience working in startup or high-growth environments, with a focus on execution over process overhead Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and drive team performance A pragmatic problem-solver who balances technical depth with speed and business impact
