Job Title: Engineering Lecturer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Salary: £43,509 – £46,702 depending on experience
As an Engineering Lecturer you will specialise in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Pipe Fabrication, Steelwork (Fabrication), Machining, CAD / Technical Drawing

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential

  • Engineering experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Pipe Fabrication. Steelwork (Fabrication), Machining, CAD / Technical Drawing
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to create and share engaging, innovative learning resources

Desirable

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience developing blended learning resources and delivering through a Virtual Learning Environment
  • Experience teaching or delivering on engineering programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring or supporting learners in a professional capacity
Responsibilities
  • Delivering teaching on advanced manufacturing programmes, aligned with Apprenticeship standards and BAE Systems’ learning delivery models, incorporating innovation to enhance teaching and learning practice
  • Contributing to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum, while promoting a positive and meaningful learning culture
  • Preparing and marking assessments across programmes, providing clear, constructive feedback to ensure the rapid development of apprentices’ skills and knowledge
  • Conducting apprentice performance reviews, setting high-quality, targeted objectives to drive continuous improvement in skills, knowledge and behaviours
  • Producing accurate, timely reports and data on apprentice progress, with proactive monitoring and analysis to support development
  • Supporting apprentice interviews, enrolment, induction, open days and enrichment activities
  • Contributing to the development of inclusive blended learning approaches, making use of digital platforms to enrich curriculum delivery
