We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Engineering team as an Engineering Maintenance Apprentice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in the dynamic and fast-paced world of food manufacturing. As an Engineering Maintenance Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills that will set the foundation for a successful career in engineering.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a dedicated Engineering Maintenance Team where you will:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment.
  • Learn and apply preventive maintenance procedures to ensure optimal machinery performance.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to execute maintenance plans and projects.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Undertake training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure college-based assignments and technical files are completed within set submission dates.

The first year of your Apprenticeship will be off site at our training providers facilities based in Blackburn. From Year 2 onwards you will be based at our Leyland Manufacturing Facility, undertaking 1 day per week training off site.
From Year 2 onwards you will work a rotating shift pattern as follows:
Week 1; Mon – Fri 05.45-14.15.
Week 2; Mon- Fri 13.45-22.15.
Working 1 in 4 weekends (paid as overtime x1.5 and x2)
