Due to an internal promotion we’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Shift Lead to work at our Humber International Terminal in Immingham . You’ll be responsible for supervising maintenance resources to ensure assets are maintained and in compliant working order. As the largest UK Port by Tonnage handling 46 million tonnes of cargo every year, we deal with a wide range of customers and products at Immingham which includes biomass, containers, agribulks, building products and rail freight. You’ll be an experienced maintenance engineer with some supervisory exposure with either a Mechanical or Electrical bias but should be comfortable understanding both aspects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To actively promote ABP’s safety culture and ensure compliance with Health Safety and Environmental requirements and other legislation including the development and review of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work, delivering associated TBT’s as required.
  • To carry out the job role in accordance with company Safety Organisation and Arrangements policy.
  • Have a proactive approach towards the 6 strategic pillars and be proactive in – Putting customers first, creating a great workplace, working safely and sustainably, continual improvement, providing effective infrastructure & being good neighbours.
  • To coordinate day to day maintenance tasks ensuring that it is communicated, monitored and achieved with a comprehensive debrief undertaken with lessons learned.
  • To be actively involved in analysing and understanding KPI targets, identifying shortfalls/actions in maintenance and breakdown performance.
  • To develop and maintain direct links with key contacts, both internal and external as required in order to co-ordinate maintenance activities.
  • Assist the Terminal Management and Coordination Team in the day-to-day supervision of Maintenance operations at Humber International Terminal, ensuring that the plan is delivered through expedient planning and effective use of the available staff, equipment and service providers to improve plant availability.
  • Ensure that damages and accidents/incidents are investigated and documented in line with Company procedures. Ensure that necessary reports are completed and that recommendations for improvement are reviewed and implemented where appropriate.
  • Assist the Management Team in the ongoing leadership, development and training of all team members ensuring the jobholders have sufficient knowledge to be able to operate independently on a day to- day basis.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation with experience of driving forward safety initiatives, audits and compliance
  • Service and Customer driven with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Pro-active approach with sound organisational, leadership and motivational skills
  • Good understanding of the companies Polices and Procedures
  • Sound I.T skills which should include Outlook, Excel & Word
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Time served with an Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or equivalent) in a mechanical or electrical bias
  • Maintenance Experience
  • Strong problem solving skills
