We are currently seeking an Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF) Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne.

Responsibilities

The EMSF Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF) in line with the RTO’s Safety Management System. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that equipment, systems, or processes that deviate from established standards - or require type approval - are rigorously evaluated, documented, and processed in compliance with safety, technical, and regulatory requirements.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and maintaining the EMSF and associated standards, procedures, manuals, and templates
  • Overseeing EMSF coverage across all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Managing waiver and type approval processes, ensuring alignment with safety assurance standards such as EN 50126/50129, ISO 45001, and local regulations
  • Tracking and managing the lifecycle of waivers, ensuring validity, compliance, and periodic review
  • Collaborating with engineering, maintenance, asset management, and operations teams to align waiver and type approval requirements
  • Supporting risk mitigation activities by working closely with safety teams to ensure risks are controlled SFAIRP
  • Leading applications for type approval, ensuring documentation and evidence meet regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies, and processes
  • Preparing periodic reports and dashboards on waiver and type approval activities, highlighting trends, risks, and compliance performance
  • Monitoring active approvals to ensure timely renewals or updates
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation, including waiver requests, type approval submissions, risk assessments, and regulator correspondence
  • Conducting audits and reviews to ensure documentation is up to date and accessible
