Description Engineering Manager Aerospace The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical resources required to directly support the daily operations of TET leveraging technical competency to facilitate the growth and financial performance of TurbineAero. The successful candidate will require a strong technical competency, with an excellent track record of accomplishment and will have a keen understanding of engineering fundamentals and how they apply to manufacturing processes and capabilities. The Manager, Engineering must have superior communication, and promote collaboration, teamwork, and leadership. The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Site Leaders as well as shop floor associates, to ensure the company is effectively utilizing technical resources and processes to meet customer and regulatory requirements while achieving company financial objectives and addressing the competitive demand for continuous improvement. The Manager, Engineering must be a “hands on” leader capable to solve shop floor issues effectively and rapidly, as well as position the team to develop and strengthen their capabilities to respond to every increasing customer and competitive demands. This position will be trusted with responsibilities listed below: Lead the efforts with assistance from production to prioritize/balance engineering resources between daily production support and longer-term goals and objectives. Manage engineering projects and longer-term goals for schedule and budgetary adherence as well as technical quality of execution. Development of the engineering department by: cross-training (as needed). professional/technical training (including externally sourced). Hiring to fill potential skills gaps or to increase resources/capabilities as justified by award of new business. Develop procedures/standards and or best practices for engineering processes such as: Work instruction ‘Router’ creation and revisions. MRB dispositioning. NPI/LPRI (Legacy Part Re-Introduction). RFPs/RFQs. Engineering Project Management using phase/gate methodology. Department reorganization of responsibility breakdown (as necessary) FTR for engineering stamp authority Interviewing/Hiring for potential skills/capabilities gap or to increase resources/capabilities as justified by new business awards Requirements Engineering Manager Aerospace Requirements B.S. Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical Engineering experience) and 10 years technical experience. Ten years of experience in manufacture and/or repair of Gas Turbine Engine components. Experienced in following aerospace specifications and processes. Experience with OEM Technical Data such as Inspection Repair Manuals, Drawings, MOT/MWIs, etc. Preferred experience with various special processes e.g. GTAW, E-Beam Weld, Heat Treat, Braze, Thermal Spray, EDM, Shot Peen, Balance/Spin, etc. Project management skills. Proficient in MS Office and various Engineering computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Solidworks, 2D AutoCAD (limited proficiency), etc. Preferred experience with review, development, substantiation, and compliance to FAA-DER Major Repair EAs/PMAs.
