We’re the UK’s largest ports operator with a network of 21 ports around Britain. We handle around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade and contribute £7.5 billion to our economy every year.
It’s a story we’re proud of but it doesn’t end there. We’re transforming our business and embracing the future.
We offer a vast range of roles spanning the UK, all rooted in a culture that welcomes diversity, fosters talent, encourages internal movement and progression, and places safety as our number one priority.
Our East Anglia operations sit within our Wales & Short Sea Ports division, 3 ports strategically located in Kings Lynn, Ipswich and Lowestoft. Handling a wide range of products including timber, agribulks, building products and providing a hub for Offshore Wind, the region contributes £360m to the UK economy and impacts 5,300 jobs annually. This activity is enabled by our engineering and asset teams at each port ensuring that the equipment and facilities are primed to assist our colleagues and customers.
We’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager with responsibility to managing the mixed discipline maintenance teams across all 3 ports. With direct line management responsibilities for 5 supervisors, you’ll manage the budget, be a Health & Safety champion across the region and enforce the ABP group standards for Engineering and Asset Management KPIs. The role can be based at any of the 3-ports but will involve travel to the other locations on a weekly basis. We’re currently in the middle of a continuous improvement drive to make our business stronger, so you should have practical experience of taking well performing sites and delivering improvements.
