C9 Recruitment have an opportunity for an Engineering Manager who is results-oriented and experienced in Bus and Coach Engineering to join the management team at one of their key clients based at their Heathrow operation.
Our client has a diverse and dynamic operation providing Bus and Coach services for Heathrow Airport and the surrounding areas.
They operate a fleet of Buses and Coaches to provide essential public services and intercity private hire contracts.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Engineering Manager is an integral role, responsible for ensuring the continued high standards of safety, punctuality and reliability across the operation.
As the Engineering Manager you will be directly responsible for the management of the Engineering function to ensure the high performance of the Engineering Team across Health and Safety standards, cost-effective service delivery, and efficient and accurate management of vehicle parts.
Through analysis of the capabilities of the team and by providing accurate information on costs, you will deliver on strategies to support the operational needs of the business.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)
· Strong previous experience as an Engineering Manager in a PCV setting, managing an engineering function across multiple sites or across a large fleet (PCV commercial setting is preferred)
· Strong previous experience in a relevant role with a recognised engineering qualification, e.g. qualified Fitter/Mechanic/Engineer, Level 3 HGV City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent
· NEBOSH qualified
· Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety standards, DVSA standards and daily site procedures and Engineering processes
· An appropriate level of IT skills
· Educated to at least GCSE Maths & English Pass or equivalent
· Flexible approach to required working hours, with availability to work weekend or anti-social hours when required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (NON ESSENTIAL)
· Possession of, or working towards, a Certificate of Professional Competence, ideally as a transport Manager
· Previous experience as a named individual on an Operators Licence

· Control, plan and manage all costs associated with the Engineering function, delivering to agreed budgets
· Direct management of the Engineering team: driving engagement; managing performance and training to ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Operational legislation and standards; staff planning to meet operational requirements
· Ensure compliance with DVSA and operational requirements: ensure high standards of maintenance across all vehicles through managing and delivering KPIs related to Vehicle Inspection, Servicing, MOT compliance and Cleaning Standards
· Ensure the effective use of all Engineering support equipment, including diagnostic equipment and business support software.
