Description

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building and operating reliable, scalable software that supports Daxko’s products and customers. This role combines people leadership, technical guidance, and operational ownership, ensuring teams deliver high-quality solutions while continuously improving how we build and run our systems. You will partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful software using modern technologies and agile practices. In addition to driving technical excellence, you will focus on developing your team, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work. WHAT YOU’LL DO: LEAD AND DEVELOP THE TEAM * Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, helping them grow their skills and careers * Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development planning * Support hiring efforts, including interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members * Establish clear team goals, priorities, and success metrics aligned with company objectives * Foster a collaborative, transparent culture focused on continuous improvement DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY SOFTWARE * Guide the design and development of scalable applications that deliver a strong user experience and meet business needs * Partner with Product Management to align engineering work with product strategy and customer outcomes * Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure systems follow sound technical architecture and best practices * Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within scope and timelines * Ensure code quality through reviews, testing practices, and adherence to engineering standards DRIVE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE * Monitor system reliability, performance, and production health * Coordinate incident response and troubleshooting when issues arise * Improve engineering processes, development workflows, and CI/CD practices * Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and data privacy standards * Maintain clear documentation for systems, codebases, and development processes STRENGTHEN ENGINEERING PRACTICES * Guide the team in creating clean, maintainable, and reusable code * Encourage the adoption of modern development tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies * Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the tech stack * Balance technical tradeoffs across scalability, performance, reliability, and cost QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience * 7+ years of software engineering experience * 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams * Experience building modern applications using object-oriented programming languages * Experience working with APIs, web services, and modern application architectures * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud * Experience with relational databases such as SQL and familiarity with modern data storage approaches * Experience with version control tools such as Git * Experience with automated testing practices including unit, integration, and performance testing * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Experience building SaaS applications at scale * Experience working in Agile development environments * Experience with technologies such as .NET Core, React, and modern API architectures * Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and engineering workflows Daxko is dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.
