Job Title: Engineering Manager
Department: Die Casting
Location: Clinton, TN
Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will lead die casting engineering operations, driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires expertise in die design, tooling, and process control within an automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese manufacturing standards, proven leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with global teams. Occasional international travel (1–2 weeks) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of die casting dies and trim tooling.
  • Develop annual and semi-annual action plans aligned with company initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and lower carbon footprint.
  • Partner with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Manage engineering projects, including budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards (IATF/ISO), and company policies.
  • Train, mentor, and develop engineering team members.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and submit project proposals for management approval and budget allocation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Production Engineering team.
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Ensure work assignments are clear, fair, and compliant with organizational policies and laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7–10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in die casting or similar manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization.
  • Leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with IATF and ISO standards.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel internationally for 1–2 weeks as needed to meet business requirements.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Capable of handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to use standard office and engineering tools (computer, phone, etc.).
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with all company safety policies.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
