Description
The Broomfield facility is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of medium voltage distribution switchgear and components for utility and C&I markets. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers in various engineering functions including engineer to order (ETO), VAVE/Cost Out, maintenance of line, mechanical and electrical engineering, SEL relay programming, IEEE testing and standards, customer interaction and support, and technical expertise regarding medium voltage switchgear. You will use your professional skills to lead a team of engineers to keep up with the fast-growing market segments. Lead & Manage: Mentor engineers by guiding them through technical challenges and career growth, while aligning projects with skill development and promoting engagement in industry learning, certifications, and customer experiences. Sustain & Improve: Ensure product designs comply with IEEE and evolving industry standards, provide technical expertise in medium voltage switchgear and controls, and lead VAVE initiatives by managing cost-out activities and aligning project roadmaps with plant goals, sourcing resiliency, and quality improvements. Customer Focus: Oversee the engineer-to-order (ETO) process to ensure timely, accurate customer deliverables; provide technical support during recurring and ad hoc customer meetings; review submittal and design drawings; and validate bill of materials for accuracy prior to production release. Drive Efficiency: Champion continuous improvement mindset by leveraging digital modeling, tools and processes to enhance engineering efficiency. Instill effective decision making and prioritization to balance trade-offs and achieve stretch goals. Technical leadership: Possess and apply expertise in power system automation and switchgear products including settings and testing; understand low and high voltage circuit applications; and guide system integration testing with production teams to ensure full system validation, including factory acceptance testing when required. Collaborate effectively: Lead, facilitate and participate in the activities of a cross-functional team to plan and execute business operations and continuous improvement aligned with our Quality Management System. Accurately communicate status and quality of projects and deliverables to team, management, and stakeholders. Strive for Excellence: Set ambitious goals, measure performance, and constantly seek ways to improve processes, products, and services. -Bachelor of science degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution. -Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with electrical power systems or switchgear product design -Minimum 5 years of experience managing an engineering or technical team -Bachelor or Master of Science in Power or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. -Experience with medium voltage switchgear and control design, test, and application. Position Success Criteria: -Demonstrated leadership skills, either direct supervision or project leadership. Proficient using Microsoft Office and CAD and PLM software. -Problem solving experience using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
