OVERVIEW

The role will involves leading a team to manage contracts, planning and delivering proposals and managing the delivery of projects. This role is critical to the growth of a new business area for Expleo and represents an opportunity for personal career growth based on successful delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Degree/Diploma would be advantageous (beneficial IPMA/Prince/APM/PMI qualified)

EXPERIENCE

  • Naval Architecture / Mechanical Engineering / Marine industry experience.
  • Experience within service and support for UK projects
  • Experience processes across the CADMID life cycle
  • Proven and significant experience in an Operational, Functional or Programme leadership position.
  • Technical and Commercial acumen.
  • Experience of performance management of people & teams.
  • KPI ownership & delivery
Responsibilities
  • Leading the Engineering teams: Lead the team to delivery, monitoring performance, facilitating growth and ensure the team to achieve the targeted objectives.
  • Delivery: Will ensure delivery performance (contract, deliverables, workloads), and quality (RFT, OQD, OTD & CSAT) of a portfolio of projects and bids.
  • Business Development: Working with Business Development Director, Chief Engineers and Capability teams to identify opportunities and to support proposals/bids, which address customer needs in a highly competitive market.
  • Managing the team, partners, suppliers and clients: Oversee contact between the team members, project managers, clients, suppliers and partners. Apply communication skills to inform clients about project progress and engage and instruct team members.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts: Support in negotiating and managing contracts with clients and suppliers, ensuring the team meets all needs to foster positive relationships with external parties.
  • Project Planning: Define the technical objectives of projects and establish delivery hours, cost and timelines. This involves determining the resources and milestones to achieve project success.
  • Manage Resources: Monitor expenditures, allocate resources efficiently, ensure that the projects are adequately resourced and enable the recruitment process working closely with talent acquisition and Country Lead.
  • Project Reporting: Working with the PM community, ensure that Project Tracking processes are completed and the Project Finance Reviews are performed in line with company process and to the standard and frequency set by the Head of Projects
  • Conducting risk assessments: Conduct risk assessments & complexity assessments to anticipate potential project challenges. Identifying risks early ensures that we can develop mitigation strategies and ensure a project’s success.
  • Implementing technical regulatory standards: Engineering managers enforce technical standards to maintain quality and consistency across projects.
  • Finding solutions for technical issues: When technical problems arise, lead in finding viable solutions. Utilise understanding of systems to help identify issues and devise efficient solutions.
  • Staff Development: Assess and monitoring the performance of staff on the project and provide feedback to the UK Capability Leads and People Services Manager.
