Description

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team to ensure the successful design, development, and implementation of projects. This role involves overseeing all engineering activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Engineering Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and developing the engineering team, managing resources, and driving innovation and continuous improvement within the department. Strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex projects are essential. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering management and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering environment.
This position is based on a 40 hour per week schedule typically Monday through Friday but could flex based on business schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 5-7 yrs. engineering management/supervisory experience in CNC manufacturing environment or equivalent.

SKILLS

· Ability to take a dynamic role in the decision-making processes.
· Strong project management, leadership/supervisory skills.
· Ability to coach and mentor staff to develop and maintain and strong and dynamic team.
· Understanding of AS9100 and its impact on the position requirements.
· Ability to work under tight deadlines.
· Ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a positive and professional manner adhering to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

· Manages the new part process development.
· Develops and manages the engineering department budget, long and short-term plans/goals.
· Oversees the quotation process.
· Responsible for Engineering department compliance with AS9100 quality system requirements.
· Liaises with customers and outside agencies with regards to engineering issues.
· Liaises with management team and internal customers with regards to engineering issues.
· Involved in special projects and supplier involvement.
· Involved in the new machine acquisition process.
· Develops and maintains departmental infrastructure to ensure optimal resources and support are provided to internal and external customers.
· Monitors and develops the engineering staff’s skills.
· CI/Lean manufacturing initiatives as appropriate.
· Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
