What You’ll Do

The Industrial Engineering Manager leads the industrial engineering team in developing and implementing solutions that drive the transformation of manufacturing decision making. The Industrial Engineering Manager owns collaborating with senior leadership to shape and evolve the manufacturing organization’s decision-making strategy and ensuring the industrial engineering team’s structure, frameworks, and resourcing are aligned to organizational goals.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influence management skills, including the ability to challenge the status quo and manage key senior stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team to manage complex projects and technical initiatives and identify innovative solutions. Invest in the professional development of the engineering team including coaching, performance reviews, and long-term career guidance.
  • Translate business problems into structured projects that your team will lead in end-to-end delivery against key objectives, from hypothesis development to final deliverables.
  • Act as a thought partner and subject matter expert to refine ideas, generate hypotheses, and analyze data to formulate solutions. Apply engineering expertise, knowledge, and skills to contribute effectively to team endeavors.
  • Lead analytical workstreams – develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks for your team to conduct analyses and solve critical business issues with minimal oversight from functional leaders.
  • Align with internal stakeholders across global manufacturing & warehouse engineering, quality engineering, and production operations to understand and prioritize their needs within the organization’s decision-making strategy.
  • Develop the business value driven, self-service model for delivering manufacturing decision systems by managing and sustaining a strong working relationship with dependent teams across the organization (such as data engineering, infrastructure, and applications teams).
  • Engage with external partners, including customer operations and business planning, to anticipate and support current and future customer focus areas.
  • Define & refine the industrial engineering service lines to better define the engineering team’s roles and the focus their contributions on business value.
  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of analytical models, data pipelines, data engineering solutions, data integration solutions, and automated insights.
  • Empower the industrial engineering team to develop and implement measurement systems for monitoring processes and equipment to achieve company objectives for continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent and 8+ years relevant experience in manufacturing environments (alternatively a Master’s degree and 6+ years of experience)
  • MBA or exposure to business, finance or economics is advantageous.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in leading technical or engineering teams.
  • Growth mindset: you believe in continuous learning by dedication of time, effort, and energy.
  • Ability to convert complex (often data driven) topics to clear overviews and insights.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Ability to provide technical and professional leadership to a team of engineers.
  • Experience in manufacturing changes in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-designs, facility moves, technology insertions, new product introductions, process revalidations, or Kaizen initiatives.
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop analytical frameworks.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analysis tools such as Python, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Fluency with continuous improvement / lean programs

ZT Systems assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package is created for all our employees. The typical base salary for this position is expected to be between $XXX,XXX and $XXX,XXX per year. If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
