ABOUT YOUR NEW ENGINEERING MANAGER ROLE

A leading service organisation is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing technical support team, both office-based and field-based. This role is pivotal in ensuring quality service delivery, technical excellence, and strong customer relationships.

THE ENGINEERING MANAGER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Lead and manage a team of technical support specialists, delivering effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and personal development plans.
  • Oversee all technical queries from field engineers, ensuring prompt, accurate support and resolution.
  • Drive quality assurance and ensure health and safety compliance across all operations.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive site visits and support.
  • Support the service team in resolving technical issues and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and staff training through data analysis.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments on key projects and service initiatives.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER ROLE

  • Proven experience in managing technical or engineering support teams.
  • Proven automotive/fleet industry experience, on or off highway
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a focus on performance development.
  • Experience in customer relationship management, ideally in automotive or fleet sectors.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A data-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
