Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be working within the Engineering team, supporting them in leading teams of technical staff to manage a range of highway assets including carriageway, footway, bridges and street lighting.
Your day to day will include:
- Managing surveys and inspections of highway structures, carriageways and footways in accordance with current codes of practice and industry best practice, developing and managing programmes of work for carriageways, footways, street lighting, bridges and other highway assets, responsible for the street lighting inspection programme and addressing any findings, maintaining highway asset data on the Confirm information management system
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, codes of practice and data quality management
- Completing monthly management reviews demonstrating KPI achievements, liaisingwith client officers at Birmingham city council and Birmingham highways LTD
- Deputising for the Network Needs Manager as and when required, leading and participating in meetings (face-to-face or online) with internal and external colleagues, client officers, sub-contractors, councillors and other stakeholders
- Building relationships with Birmingham city council teams for any structural, pavement, lighting and asset related issues
This role of Engineering Manager is great for you if:
- You hold a degree or qualification in an engineering specialism with knowledge of relevant legislation and Codes of Practice
- Hold good knowledge of the Birmingham highway network and have a current full driving licence
- Are able to manage and build relationships with stakeholders at all level
