We are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to strengthen our technical and project delivery capabilities, ensuring engineering excellence across our portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) status with Engineers Ireland, or working towards chartership.
  • 7+ years’ experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior engineering/management role.
  • Proven track record delivering civil infrastructure projects in Ireland (roads, utilities, groundworks, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Irish design standards, Public Works Contracts, and NEC contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on buildability and cost efficiency.
  • High level of proficiency with surveying instruments, AutoCAD, and project planning tools.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the engineering function across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to engineers, site managers, and project teams.
  • Oversee temporary works, method statements, and engineering designs to ensure compliance with Irish standards and best practice.
  • Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and local authorities to resolve technical issues and drive programme delivery.
  • Manage setting-out, quality control, and technical assurance processes on site.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Authority (HSA) regulations, Construction Regulations, and company safety management systems.
  • Support tendering and pre-construction activities with technical input, methodologies, and buildability advice.
  • Implement and monitor quality management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001.
  • Act as the technical lead in problem-solving and value engineering initiatives.
  • Contribute to the professional development of graduate and site engineers, fostering a strong technical culture.
