Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a strategic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Integration, Verification & Validation, and Certification (IVVC) efforts on the Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) program, a cornerstone of AIR6500.
This is a leadership opportunity to play a critical role in delivering a certified and accepted end-to-end defence capability for Australia.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing the strategic plan for IVVC activities to achieve system acceptance and certification.
  • Responsible for directing the respective leads for Integration, V&V, and Certification.
  • Overseeing the delivery of the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) and ensuring customer-alignment with Agile-based verification approaches.
  • Managing the collection of objective quality evidence (OQE) throughout the lifecycle to support V&V and certification.
  • Managing Control Accounts (CAM) including cost, schedule, and risk responsibilities.
  • Driving acquisition of supporting IVVC infrastructure (labs, tools, customer-furnished items).
  • Reporting status, risks, and resolutions to senior stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Collaborating with multi-site, international teams (AU and US) in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
  • Expert knowledge of Defence Test & Evaluation frameworks and practices.
  • Deep understanding of Australian regulatory and certification processes.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale defence delivery teams and contractual obligations.
  • Strong experience with Control Account Management and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Proven ability to apply judgement, strategy, and lateral thinking to complex challenges.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, tools, and standards in a defence context.
  • Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Testing principles is desirable but not essential
