YOUR SKILLS

  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional, product-oriented engineering teams
  • Solid grasp of full-stack development, ideally with Java, React, and both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Strong understanding of distributed system design, particularly microservice architectures
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset — you build strong relationships with senior engineers, product peers, other engineering managers, and various stakeholders
  • Familiarity with building applications on AWS
  • Bonus: experience developing GUI-heavy internal tools or platforms
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of backend, frontend, and QA engineers — creating a supportive environment where people can grow and do their best work
  • Collaborate closely with Product to define and deliver on a clear vision and roadmap
  • Support the team in architectural and technical decision-making, while not being expected to contribute code regularly
  • Drive engineering excellence and accountability for the stability, performance, and maintainability of the tools you build and own
  • Lead and deliver migration projects — Statista has a long history of building internal tools; you’ll work to consolidate what’s still valuable and phase out the obsolete
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partner with data engineers and architects to develop powerful internal content automation and toolin
