  Position Summary:    The Engineering Manager position requires a professional, organized individual with the ability to take ownership of new projects. This role requires management of multiple projects simultaneously, accuracy in daily work, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position will lead and coordinate the Engineering Department for new and existing product testing and trials; engineer line parameter changes and achieve maximum production efficiency. The Engineering Manager is responsible for assigning, directing, delegating, and verifying that all engineering related tasks are assigned and completed for the plant; directly responsible for the assignment of Engineering staff and System Operators daily duties. This position will also lead and coordinate the Maintenance Department.  Qualifications (include but are not limited to): * Good analytical skills; good written and verbal communication skills * Record of dependability and good attendance * Basic mechanical abilities to correct and assist with equipment problems * 4 year engineering degree in chemical (or related field) along with a minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in the heat treatment industry * Ability to work in a safe manner and follow all safety and environmental policies * Ability to present yourself in a professional manner when dealing with customers and vendors * Willingness to work a flexible schedule; be available during off-shift hour and to travel as needed * Ability to work well with others in coordinating multiple tasks involving several process steps * Ability to delegate projects to appropriate associates and follow-up to ensure tasks are completed by designated times Duties (include but are not limited to):    * Lead and coordinate the Engineering Department for new and existing product testing and trials; engineer line parameter changes and achieve maximum production efficiency * Lead and coordinate the Engineering Department to ensure that all processing lines are operating within specified ranges and producing desired quality results * Responsible for assigning, directing, delegating, and verifying that all engineering related tasks are assigned and completed for the plant; directly responsible for the assignment of Engineering staff and System Operators daily duties * Responsible for ensuring/reviewing all the daily shift forms, related to engineering, are completed accurately and reviewed; necessary information prepared in summary format for company associates to review * Responsible for Engineering and Maintenance Department’s annual budget preparation in relation to equipment needs, equipment improvement items, etc. * Work in coordination with all members of company support staff and corporate staff to achieve desired results * Perform and assist with maintenance and equipment projects for each processing line as needed; ensure Engineering staff properly maintains all processing equipment and that PM’s are completed on time
Responsibilities
