You’ll be a team player who’s passionate about mentoring, sharing knowledge, and leading with purpose. You will be well-connected to industry and a leader in winning work.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia is a plus
  • Extensive experience in power system analysis for utility-scale networks, including steady-state, dynamic and electromagnetic transient (RMS/EMT) studies
  • Proven experience with the generator connection process under the Australian National Electricity Rules (NER) or similar frameworks
  • Proven track record in grid connection and GPS studies (R0, R1), and R2 commissioning plan and hold point testing plus model validation studies for utility-scale Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs)
  • Strong knowledge of NER and Generator Technical Performance Standards (GTPS)
  • Background in consulting engineering, with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients
  • Experience managing consulting engagements, including client liaison, commercial oversight, and scope management
  • Proficiency in PSS/E and PSCAD; experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSSE SINCAL is a plus
  • Familiarity with synchronous and non-synchronous connections, including storage and hybrid technologies
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with grid-forming inverters, hybrid renewable energy projects, data centre connections, and automation/Python programming
  • Experience leading connection negotiations with AEMO, DNSPs, and TNSPs
