ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD – PCB & IOT INTEGRATION

We are seeking an Engineering Team Lead with strong expertise in PCB design, IoT integration, and industrial automation systems. This role combines leadership, hands-on engineering, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation in connected products. The ideal candidate will guide new product development, optimize existing systems, and foster a high-performance engineering culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus).
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in PCB design and IoT-enabled product development.
  • Hands-on knowledge of embedded systems, industrial communication protocols, and automation.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, promoting a professional, collaborative, and customer-focused culture.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to align goals, address challenges, and ensure accountability.
  • Support production and technician teams by providing clear communication and technical direction.

Product Development & IoT Integration

  • Oversee design, development, and improvement of PCB-based systems for IoT-enabled products.
  • Integrate hardware and software solutions using IoT protocols such as ProfiNet, IO-Link, MQTT, and Modbus.
  • Implement sensor integration, edge computing, and connectivity strategies to support smart, data-driven industrial solutions.
  • Drive cost reduction, performance improvements, and system scalability through innovative design.

Engineering Proficiencies

  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Keyence, or similar).
  • Strong foundation in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and industrial networking.
  • Experience with CAD/3D modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for product design and enclosure development.
  • Ability to generate technical documentation, schematics, and engineering bulletins.
  • Manage projects from concept through production while maintaining budget and timeline integrity.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Field Service, and Operations to align engineering projects with customer needs.
  • Provide engineering expertise for data collection, usability improvements, and product lifecycle enhancements.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams for component sourcing and cost optimization.

Team Development

  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing structured training and feedback.
  • Establish best practices for engineering project management, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous innovation.
