Description

Our Product Development department is seeking an operationally involved Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be accountable for the performance, reliability, motivation, and growth of two dedicated Scrum teams, approximately 20 FTE. As the people manager, you will lead and support a group of committed experts, fostering their development and ensuring the team’s continued success.

Responsibilities

KEY ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Product Development (PD) is responsible for developing and maintaining Axon, our solution designed for Property & Casualty insurance providers. Axon is highly configurable to align with our customers’ specific processes and products, and seamlessly integrates within their application landscape as well as with partner applications (ecosystems).
We’re looking for a leader who is passionate about both people and software development. You bring a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and strong people skills, which are key to shaping and nurturing a high-performing team that consistently delivers on its promises.
In this role, you’ll not only guide and inspire your teams but also play a pivotal role in the PD management team, reporting to the PD Director, to drive technical and operational excellence, alongside your highly motivated peers.

KEY ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report directly to the Product Development Director, and be part of the Product Development Management Team.
  • Take full people management responsibility for two Scrum teams, guiding their development and ensuring their success.
  • Foster growth and development within your teams, mentoring existing talent and recruiting new team members to strengthen capabilities.
  • Encourage creative problem-solving and promote a culture of open communication, enabling the generation of new ideas and continuous refinement of processes.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics, including software quality, delivery of revenue-generating features, team productivity (such as time allocation), progress on improvement initiatives, and adherence to budget.
  • Play a coordinating role in strategic initiatives within Product Development, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals
