Description
Te Tūranga / About the Role Silver Fern Farms Belfast are looking for a skilled and hands-on Engineering Manager to join our senior site leadership team. Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our plant assets — from maintenance planning and reliability through to capital projects, compliance and continuous improvement. This role leads a capable engineering team and works closely with production, technical, and leadership colleagues to ensure the site’s equipment, services and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities * Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team, fostering a high performing, safety focused and collaborative culture. * Own and implement the site’s asset and maintenance strategies, including preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise plant reliability. * Manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate forecasting, and sound procurement of tools, parts and equipment. * Ensure all plant assets and maintenance activities comply with health, safety, environmental, regulatory and food safety requirements, including regular auditing and performance reporting. * Drive continuous improvement, working with site leaders to identify opportunities, investigate root causes, and deliver projects or upgrades that enhance performance and reduce cost.   Ōu Pūkenga / About You You’ll be an experienced people leader who brings a practical understanding of industrial or manufacturing environments, matched with the ability to take a strategic view of asset management and site performance. You’re organised, solutions focused, and comfortable balancing hands-on leadership with long term planning. You’ll also bring: * A tertiary and/or trade qualification in engineering, asset management, or a related discipline. * Strong leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching, and building high-performing teams. * Proven experience in maintenance or asset management, ideally within food, meat, or large-scale manufacturing. * Competence with CMMS systems (MEX preferred) and confidence interpreting performance data, KPIs and budget requirements. * Demonstrated success in project management, reliability improvement and risk management. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.   Te Ahurea/Why work for Silver Fern Farms?
