Job Description We are seeking a Hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the backend team responsible for our core streaming platform and APIs. This role is designed for a technical expert who excels at building resilient, high-concurrency systems and is equally passionate about developing the engineers who build them. You will be a key contributor to our codebase while managing delivery and professional growth, bridging the gap between high-level architecture and line management. Day to day you will: Technical Leadership: Actively write and review Go (Golang) code. You’ll own the full development lifecycle—from cloud infrastructure automation (AWS/GCP) to driving operational excellence through CI/CD and zero-downtime deployments. People Management: Lead career growth, performance management, and wellbeing for your team. You will foster a culture of excellence through mentorship, 1:1 coaching, and agile delivery. AI & Innovation: Drive the strategic use of AI to enhance system monitoring, security, and scalability. You will lead R&D efforts to optimize core APIs and reduce manual infrastructure toil. Operational Resilience: Implement robust monitoring and security auditing to ensure the platform thrives under high-volume traffic, including leading root-cause analysis for complex production issues. What you’ll bring: Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams with direct line management. Technical Depth: Strong expertise in Go and building distributed systems (Microservices, Serverless, Containerization). Cloud & DevOps: Deep knowledge of AWS and a proven track record with Infrastructure-as-Code and automated monitoring. Security & AI: A solid understanding of application security and a forward-thinking mindset regarding AI-driven automation. Nice-to-Have: Experience delivering backend systems at a massive scale.
