This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager - Trust Accounting in Europe. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the creation of a greenfield Trust Accounting team responsible for building a reliable, compliant, and accurate financial subsystem. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on guidance, influencing architecture, processes, and team culture from day one. The position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, Finance, and Legal to deliver high-quality solutions while fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will mentor engineers, define best practices, and ensure the subsystem is trusted by customers and regulators. This is a chance to shape both the technical foundation and the people-focused culture of a newly formed team, contributing to long-term success. Accountabilities Build and lead a product engineering team (5–7 engineers) focused on financial correctness, compliance, and reliable delivery. Ensure the trust accounting subsystem is secure, scalable, auditable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule. Collaborate with Product, Finance, Legal, and other Engineering teams to align goals and ensure seamless execution. Establish and refine processes to improve delivery speed, system reliability, and team autonomy. Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of precision, ownership, and continuous improvement. Implement engineering practices emphasizing quality, resilience, observability, and accountability. Contribute technical context to discussions and decisions while promoting transparency across teams. 6+ years of experience in software engineering management or equivalent leadership roles (CTO, Head of Engineering, Director) with direct people management responsibilities. Strong software engineering foundation; able to participate in technical and architectural discussions effectively. Proven track record leading engineering teams in product-oriented environments, ideally in SaaS or platform businesses. Demonstrated ability to drive execution, manage delivery timelines, and remove blockers. Experience mentoring engineers and fostering growth-oriented, high-performing teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in distributed/remote settings. Comfortable working in agile environments with fast-moving priorities and cross-functional collaboration. Fluent English. Familiarity with fintech, accounting, or financial systems is a plus but not required.
