Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Vianode’s breakthrough solution enables tailored high-performance synthetic anode graphite and a holistic sustainability offering including a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. The company is currently preparing to start its first full-scale plant at Herøya, Norway, before executing its multi-billion dollar phased investment program for large-scale plants in North America and Europe. ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Engineering Manager to join our team. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, managerial acumen, and creative problem-solving skills. You will be a key member of our Owner’s Team and work closely with our external contractors ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to project goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and management, with at least a few years in a managerial role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in Canada
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in the Owner’s Team and with external partners
  • Cross cultural communication experience is a plus.
  • Availability to travel and to spend time on site during execution.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Preferred Experience: Process industry experience is highly valued. Experience with metals, semiconductor or process industry and/or systems including high temperature or e-powder handling is an asset.
  • Managerial Skills: Strong managerial skill set with experience in large-scale projects. Candidates should have substantial project experience, managing mid-sized teams at the very least, and have seen projects through the entire cycle from engineering to execution.
  • Personality and Drive: We are looking for someone who is driven, engaged, and excited to work on sustainable alternatives, adaptability, and a knack for finding creative solutions.
    Location: Temporarily Remote, On-Site at the execution phase.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT

  • Support recruitment of technical discipline resources according to project need and ensure these are well onboarded and work efficiently.
  • Review and Approve: Assess proposed specifications, designs, process solution, equipment selections, and installation plans with the support of discipline resources.
  • Evaluate Solutions: Ensure the firm’s proposed solutions meet safety, efficiency, and reliability standards.
  • Resolve Issues: Address any discrepancies or deviations from project specifications.
