Job Purpose Lead the Engineering Team to provide Vivo Energy Botswana with professional support in their field of expertise in a cost effective manner, ensuring that all operations are meeting Legal requirements and Group standards and deliver the Business Capex plans. Principal Accountabilities To prepare and monitor yearly Maintenance and Operations Capex budgets and support Sales functions as S&D, Retail, B&B/Mining and LPG in preparing Growth Capital Expenditure budgets in liaison with Financial and Planning functions. To draw Investment Proposals, estimates, drawings, tender and contract documents, and purchase orders for Vivo Energy Botswana Capex and maintenance projects. To implement and follow up on Growth Capex projects in accordance with plan, budget, quality and in compliance with HSSE requirements. To report on Maintenance Capex and Opex commitment and spend status monthly. To coordinate with the Finance department for the capitalisation of commissioned Capex projects, regular inventory and disposal of Vivo Energy Botswana unused assets. To plan and organise all the maintenance work at various Retail Site, LPG, S&D and B&B/Mining sites in accordance with Group Standards and Procedures as well as best practices. To ensure full implementation of Pragma Asset Management System. To manage, motivate and train own and contractors staff to ensure high quality work conducted within HSSE standards; To carry out inspections and participate in audits as per S&D HSSE & Sales plan. To work in collaboration with Contracting and Procurement to pre-qualify contractor draft tenders and awards strategies so as to obtain best prices, value and quality. Ensure purchase orders for Engineering & Maintenance works are raised with suppliers, in accordance with Contract Board approval and follow up on payment. Maintain a Project Engineering & Maintenance Manual including procedures for all maintenance activities carried out in Vivo Energy Botswana. Provides project management review, control, and approval over multiple areas of engineering, procurement, and construction work for all capital and assigned expense projects. Maintain and improve the standardized work process for effective project management, cost control, estimating and project scheduling to enable management of individual projects and overall portfolio performance. Responsible for performance of monthly project capital spend forecasting. Challenges and supports operational colleagues in Vivo Energy Botswana to ensure compliance with legislation and all requirements of the HSSE MS and Group standards in all operational activities. Ensure cost effective delivery of engineering services through the use of fit-for-purpose standards, and practices. Deliver Capex project targets on quality, budget, schedule and construction safety. Coach and mentor staff, including development of appropriate training programmes. Ensures proper staffing through attraction, coaching and development of people, covering aspects like Competences, Performance Management and Recognition & Reward. Key Competencies Manage, coach and motivate the Engineering and maintenance team. Drive the implementation of Vivo Energy Asset Management Systems processes. Review engineering performance and provide an assurance process for asset integrity and engineering cost management Provide technical and project management support for Vivo Energy Botswana To maintain and implement global Distribution Engineering standards across Vivo Energy Botswana Raise the HSSE competence (and compliance) of the Engineering Team. Ensure that Vivo Energy Botswana capex is spent as per plan Develop the Competence of Engineering staff & create an efficient Networking with vivo energy Develop Competence of contractors Management of external professionals & contractors of different competence levels. Completion of multiple discipline projects on time, on budget & to specification. Promote a high level of HSSE over a variety works type and contractors. Qualifications and Experiences The ideal candidate must have: A professional engineer with demonstrated competence and experience in design, construction, maintenance and project management. Shall be self-driven and be able to work in teams Comprehensive knowledge of Vivo Energy (Shell) service station design & HSSE specifications & standards Knowledge of Vivo Energy construction, procurement & tendering processes Project management experience Ability to deliver on time and against budget HSSE experience Ability to lead teams, to motivate and coach CLOSING DATE: 17 April 2026
