This role combines deep technical expertise with people leadership, requiring you to guide teams through the design, development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning solutions that drive core business outcomes. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for shaping technical strategy, establishing engineering best practices, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of ML-powered products. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into robust machine learning architectures. The ideal candidate brings hands-on ML experience, strong system design capabilities, and a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of machine learning engineers and software developers Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for ML-based systems and platforms Architect scalable, reliable, and high-performance machine learning solutions Oversee model development, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring in production environments Establish engineering best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and deployment Collaborate with product and business teams to align technical initiatives with strategic goals Ensure robust MLOps practices including CI/CD, versioning, monitoring, and observability Review system designs and conduct technical evaluations to mitigate risks Drive performance optimization for ML pipelines and large-scale distributed systems Mentor and coach engineers to foster technical excellence and career growth Support hiring efforts and build a strong, high-performance engineering culture Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and scalability What Makes You a Great Fit 9+ years of experience in software engineering with significant exposure to Machine Learning systems Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams Strong hands-on expertise in ML frameworks, data pipelines, and production deployments Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture Experience with MLOps practices and deploying models in production environments Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Ability to balance technical depth with people management responsibilities Experience collaborating with product and business stakeholders Strong communication and decision-making abilities Track record of delivering complex ML-driven projects in dynamic environments
