JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Workshop Operative with welding experience/knowledge, you will be responsible for maintaining the workshop and depot, ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and performing welding tasks as required. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and welding projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience as a welder, in MIG welding techniques advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop equipment and tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and accountability.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Relevant certifications in welding and workshop safety are preferred.
    Preferable FLT Licence and experience of driving FLT.

Responsibilities
  • Occasional welding tasks, including MIG welding, as needed.
  • Maintain and repair workshop equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Manage inventory of materials, tools and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintenance and properly organised.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of materials for welding and other workshop projects.
  • Ensure the workshop and depot are clean, organised, and comply with safety regulations.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and to be a high standard.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed, ensuring smooth coordination between teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to equipment or welding processes.
  • Undertake any other tasks or duties commensurate with the role as required by the business.
