The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for Toronto Metropolitan University undergraduate engineering degree students and/or recent graduates to help fulfill the University’s outreach objectives. As an Engineering Outreach Liaison, your job will be to effectively market Toronto Metropolitan University Engineering, and the importance of physics to prospective students and influencers, by conducting presentations and delivering virtual outreach activities to Grade 9 science and Grade 11 physics classes throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifications

• Current enrolment in, or completion of, a Toronto Metropolitan University undergraduate or graduate engineering degree with relevant experience is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Toronto Metropolitan University’s academic programs, environment, and identity.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding public speaking skills with the ability to adapt presentations to large and small audiences.
• Ability to relate to a culturally diverse audience.
• Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as contribute positively to a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products and internet/e-mail applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Holds a valid G License, comfortable driving on highways and main roads.
• Available to work at least two weekdays from Monday to Friday from 8 - 4 pm.
