Job Summary The Engineering Planning Maintenance Manager at Albert Bartlett plays a pivotal role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime and supporting food safety compliance across our Added Value Potato Products site in Airdrie. You will lead the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities—planned, preventative, and reactive—while managing resources, permits, and parts to minimise downtime and optimise productivity. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules for processing, packaging, refrigeration, and utilities equipment. Build weekly engineering schedules in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams. Review and prioritise work requests based on production impact and break down jobs into detailed tasks. Monitor work order close-out with accurate feedback and root cause analysis. Work with Engineering Stores to maintain critical spares and optimise inventory levels. Maintain accurate engineering records for compliance with BRC, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, ISO standards. Analyse downtime trends and implement corrective actions to improve reliability. Support CAPEX planning for efficiency and reliability improvements. Skills & Experience Required: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and food processing systems. Proven experience in maintenance planning and team leadership within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in CMMS systems and spare parts management. Knowledge of regulatory compliance (PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, ISO standards). Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills. Analytical mindset with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement. Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications (HND, Degree, or equivalent experience). IOSH or equivalent safety certification is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance software.
