Due to a pending retirement we’re currently looking to recruit an Engineering Plant Operative to cover the 4 ports we operate in the Humber region. Whilst the majority of the work will be based out of Immingham, you will be required to travel to Hull on a regular basis every week. You’ll be responsible for driving a 51m access platform as well as carrying out routine maintenance and checks on the plant You should hold a HGV Class C/Class 2 licence and will have experience of driving an engineering mobile crane.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate and maintain plant machinery and equipment across multiple port locations including 51m access platform and engineering mobile crane.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist with the rigging and statutory inspection team duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Safety and Environmental requirements and other legislation including contributing to the development and review of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and TBT’s as required.
  • Input into the ‘preventative maintenance’ programme within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required in order that information may be both entered and retrieved, including the entering/creation of work orders for unplanned works.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation with experience of driving forward safety initiatives, audits and compliance
  • Service and Customer driven with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Pro-active approach with sound organisational and motivational skills.
  • Valid Class 2 (C) HGV licence
  • Valid IPAF 1B Licence
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining plant machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel between ports and adapt to varying work schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
