Our client, based in the East Cheshire area near Handforth, are looking for an experienced Production Manager with an Engineering background.
In brief, they would like someone from a similar engineering production environment, with an understanding of CNC processes, CADCAM/Design and with experience of overseeing an Engineering department; including Mechanical Fitting/CNC & Finishing, & in this case, a small team of about 10 production staff.
The role is permanent and pay a basic of between £50-55k per annum dependant on experience.
The company is located in East Cheshire and commutable from Stockport, Handforth, Macclesfield and all areas of South Manchester.
Responsibilities summary:

Production Management:

• Oversee daily production on operations to ensure efficient and timely product output.
• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet demand.
• Establish and maintain production procedures.
• Monitor and refine production processes, adjust schedules as needed, and troubleshoot issues to minimize down me.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor and motivate a team of production staff.
• Promote a culture of safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Manage over me requirements.
• Ability to deal with disciplinary issues in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
• Performance management, appraisals and objectives.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions.
• Implement manufacturing techniques and best practices.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to streamline production processes / workflows.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proven experience in managing production processes in the engineering sector.
• Experience with 5 axis CNC Milling machines, CNC Lathe, Manual Lathe.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in production planning and quality control.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Familiarity with EDGECAM ideal but not essential, CAD/CAM familiarity.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• Innovative thinker with the ability to drive process improvements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
