SLR Consulting has an excellent opportunity, to join our Renewable Technical Services (RTS) team, in a position that will take responsibility for the project management of large-scale BESS and solar projects, through construction to operation. This post supports a growth in construction support and bridges the gap between existing Development and Operational services. The role As an Engineering Project Manager, you will be central to our Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) Owner’s Engineer Service. Acting as the single point of contact you will liaise directly with the client and contractors, then coordinate support from the wider team. You will have oversight of all project aspects, including design reviews, change and risk management, site witnessing, and be responsible for reporting, stakeholder management and chairing meetings, as well as coordination of both internal and 3rd party teams in providing timely expert advice. Our service is pragmatic and proactive, providing Trusted Advisor support to make sure of project success. Core responsibilities will include: Design reviews - Managing the design reviews; civils, electrical, controls, ITP, interfaces in designs and contracts, Commissioning and handover. Site visits - contractor meetings in support of witnessing, progress reviews and reporting to client and funder. The central coordinator of a multi-disciplinary team and single point of contact for the client, you will provide pragmatic and proactive advice, so that risks are mitigated ahead of time and issues avoided. With a broad understanding of a range of disciplines, you will be supported by Subject Matter Experts to mitigate risks before they become issues. The RTS team works alongside the Power Networks team in provide renewables generation and storage technical expertise (from feasibility through to operational sites) as a Service across all sectors, from Renewable Energy to housebuilding, Commercial and Industrial to Mining. We are a new technical addition to SLR through acquisition and are therefore providing technical support to complement existing services by other teams around the globe. About you With project management and construction experience of large BESS projects, and /or HV projects (ideally up to 400kv), you will have worked for an EPC, Developer, IPC, or Consultancy supporting the delivery of BESS projects, either as an Owner's Engineer (OE) or Construction Manager. Whilst an electrical background is a key requirement, any additional experience with BESS, solar or wind OE, or substation design would be highly beneficial. You should also be used to working in a multi discipline environment, with a good understanding of the benefits working with associated teams such as planning and ecology. Whilst the ability to travel to site is a requirement, the role will be mostly office based – ours, the clients and contractors.
