What will your role be? At Diageo Australia, our engineering capability plays a critical role in shaping safe, high-performing and future-ready manufacturing operations. In this newly created role as our Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of capital projects that materially improve safety, quality, performance, flexibility and sustainability across our Australian operations. Based primarily at our Huntingwood site, with occasional support to Bundaberg, this role owns the planning, execution and governance of capital investments from feasibility through to commissioning, validation and handover. You’ll bring thought leadership and deep technical expertise to deliver agile, lean and competitive CAPEX solutions, ensuring all projects align with Diageo’s global engineering standards, safety expectations and long-term strategic goals. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Site Leadership Team, you’ll help shape and implement the site’s 3-year CAPEX strategy, delivering strong return on investment and sustainable business outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring strong frontline presence to manage contractors, suppliers and multi-functional teams in live manufacturing environments. Where will you grow in this role? Strategic exposure – contribute to the development and execution of site and national CAPEX strategies aligned to Diageo Australia’s AOP and long-term ambitions; End-to-end ownership – lead a complex pipeline of capital projects across design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover supporting Diageo Australia’s continued investment in Australian manufacturing; Build inspirational cross-functional leadership – partner closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Innovation, Finance, Procurement, Planning and the Site Leadership Team to innovative continuous improvement projects; Global connectivity – collaborate with Global Engineering peers to share findings, standards and bprocedures building a network of operational performance continuous improvement leaders; Capability building – mentor others, embed continuous improvement and strengthen engineering project systems and governance; and Career pathways – build a strong platform toward senior engineering, technical excellence or broader supply leadership roles within Diageo. What will you bring to the table? A suitable engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience; Proven experience delivering capital projects in an FMCG or manufacturing environment; Hands-on involvement in end-to-end project delivery, from feasibility through to commissioning and handover; Experience managing contractors, suppliers and project budgets; Strong understanding of safety, risk and compliance in live manufacturing sites; Experience in partnering with multi-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply; and A practical, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mentality with a high level of comfort in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels of our business.
