Description The Engineering Project Manager at Hyper Solutions leads the planning, development, and delivery of mechanical systems supporting low- and medium-voltage power distribution products, including PDUs and related mission-critical infrastructure components. This role combines technical engineering expertise with strong project management capabilities to drive successful execution from concept through production. This position works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer and business objectives. The Engineering Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating complex product development efforts while maintaining high standards for quality, performance, and reliability. This role is well-suited for an engineer with strong mechanical design experience who has transitioned into project leadership and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Core Responsibilities Lead cross-functional engineering projects for power distribution units (PDUs) and associated components Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure timely project execution Track project progress, milestones, risks, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership Manage risk assessments, design reviews, and engineering change control processes Ensure alignment between engineering development, production readiness, and customer requirements Additional Responsibilities Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to assess production readiness and execution timelines Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT) efforts, including prototyping and validation builds Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), field trials, and failure analysis efforts Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and cross-functional coordination Support global or multi-site project execution across different time zones and partner environments Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 5+ years of mechanical design experience 2+ years of experience managing projects or leading cross-functional teams Experience designing components for low- or medium-voltage electrical systems (PDUs, switchgear, busbar systems, controls, or similar) Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals including thermal management, sheet metal, plastics, structural integrity, and environmental sealing Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification Familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications such as UL, IEC, and CE Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM/PDM) systems Experience working with contract manufacturing and external supplier networks What Success Looks Like Projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer and business requirements Strong cross-functional coordination results in efficient execution and minimal delays Engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams are aligned throughout the product lifecycle Risks are proactively identified and mitigated, minimizing impact to timelines and quality Product launches are successful, with smooth transitions from development to production Why Hyper?
