Title: Engineering Project Manager
Location: Mahwah, New Jersey
Environment: 4 days onside, 1 day remote
Duration: 1 year contract
Rate: $75-$80/hour W2

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead and support multiple engineering initiatives, including a major manufacturing expansion project with technology upgrades. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and technical execution capabilities across engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will apply professional judgment and subject matter expertise with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 4 years of project management experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or technology setting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving retrofitting of equipment, facility upgrades, and technology integration.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and risk assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed project plans and managing budgets, timelines, and cross-functional resources.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with medical device manufacturing or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Quality Planning tools and procurement strategies.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize multiple engineering projects to ensure optimal use of team resources and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to validate equipment and implement technology enhancements as part of a manufacturing expansion initiative.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact scope, timeline, or cost.
  • Drive the development of Quality Plans using appropriate quality planning tools and techniques; oversee implementation and ensure compliance.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive Risk Management Plans; identify potential risks, analyze impact, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and execute Procurement Management Plans; partner with sourcing and procurement teams to evaluate and select vendors or service providers.
  • Assign and manage cross-functional project resources; define roles, responsibilities, and deliverables; provide feedback on team performance.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities; develop and maintain Stakeholder Management Plans based on analysis of expectations and influence.
  • Ensure clear communication across all project phases, from initiation through execution, including regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors to ensure delivery meets agreed quality and performance standards.
