DESCRIPTION APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item. Support the development of the key aspects of existing and future Apple Watch components, modules and systems by leveraging industrial engineering analytical and design skills. Utilize background in mechanical design, experience with design, cameras, sensors (magnetometers, IMUs, capacitive, etc), PCBs and flexes, silicon, antennas, batteries, thermals, to drive issues to conclusion. Work closely with all cross functional validation teams to identify electro-mechanical design tradeoffs, confirm with testing, and implement solutions (eg. sensor locations). Collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering, operations, industrial design, and vendor partners to meet aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals. Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs. Drive closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision-making to meet overall project objectives. Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top level objectives and develop a better course of action. Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift. Create and maintain detailed project schedules for key enclosure and mechanical components, respond quickly to changes. Understand system-level part interactions, manage a plan to provide key combinations into reliability testing to validate system performance. Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing. Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 - $258,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Utilizing prior product development experience to plan rapid development cycles and execute validation plans for the consumer devices. Utilizing understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes to plan and operate prototype builds of components and module assemblies used to validate designs. Ability to learn and understand fundamentals of other engineering disciplines, such as Electrical and RF Engineering, to assess technical risks and issues, and to establish risk mitigations or solutions to issues. Clear communicator with organized and concise messaging to facilitate collaboration across engineering, operations, industrial design, and manufacturing teams. Ability to interface with cross-functional teams; understand goals and motivations, facilitate discussions towards solutions that benefit all teams. Utilizing experience in multitasking and managing multiple builds to effectively track status, issues, and upcoming key milestones.
