Job Title: Engineering Project Planner/Scheduler – Part Time
Location: St. Louis, MO 63103
Type: Part-Time (50% workload, flexible schedule)
Duration: Ongoing – Hours may be higher during onboarding

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Planner/Scheduler – Part Time to support large-scale capital investment (CAPEX) projects in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex project schedules from initiation through handover, with a proven track record on projects ranging from $50 million to $500 million, and preferably experience on mega-projects exceeding $1 billion.
This role is part-time (approximately 50% allocation) with flexibility to arrange working hours with the Project Manager. It will require one site visit per month to St. Louis, MO, with the remainder performed remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules and detailed sub-schedules (Initiation, Design, Procurement, Construction).
  • Implement and maintain progress measurement systems, including progress S-curves.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo Simulation.
  • Conduct regular schedule quality assessments and ensure accuracy of timelines.
  • Analyze resource allocations, identify shortages or overallocations, and coordinate adjustments with project teams.
  • Prepare and distribute schedule updates with narratives, including critical path analysis, progress vs. planned, and identified schedule risks.
  • Recommend and support mitigation and recovery plans when schedule deviations occur.
  • Develop and maintain schedule management plans and basis of schedule documentation.
  • Track and assess schedule impacts from approved and potential changes, including EOT claims.
  • Lead or support planning workshops with stakeholders and contractors.
  • Incorporate contractor and internal milestones into overall project schedules.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules based on actual progress, evolving priorities, and approved changes.
  • Track procurement milestones and supply chain timelines, flagging risks and recommending actions.
  • Provide schedule inputs for monthly reports, governance packs, and status updates.
  • Conduct site walkdowns to review progress as needed.
