Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver highly effective teaching, coaching and assessment for apprentices within Sheffield Forgemasters, utilising a range of learning approaches and ensuring timely feedback which helps apprentices develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Supervise Sheffield Forgemasters apprentices completing practical work in the apprentice training area, ensuring they stay on task, work safely and follow H&S regulations.
  • Provide high quality information, advice and guidance to apprentices, supporting apprentices personal development and career progression opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Sheffield Forgemasters Workshop Manager to ensure that all apprentices follow an agreed training plan within the business, identifying any additional training required to satisfy any skills gaps.
  • Undertake fully compliant and timely tri-partite progress reviews with all AMRC TC/Sheffield Forgemasters apprentices and their respective line managers. Carry out meaningful discussions that focus on the learning that the apprentice has undertaken and setting targets for further planned learning.
  • Monitor and ensure that all apprentices demonstrate monthly active learning and track the Off The Job percentage to ensure that the AMRC Training Centre remains compliant at all times.
  • Ensure that all apprentices within the assigned caseload meet the agreed practical period end dates and end point assessment by the agreed apprenticeship end date.
  • Facilitate delivery of the AMRC Training Centre personal and professional development curriculum, linking learning to the overall apprenticeship standard.
  • Monitor and provide regular updates on learner progress and identify any additional support requirements that fall into the ‘At risk’ category immediately to the AMRC Training Centre and Sheffield Forgemasters management team and support teams.
  • Ensure that curriculum assessments are completed to the required AMRC Training Centre quality standards.
  • Monitor all apprentice OneFile accounts within the caseload to ensure that their progress is in line with set parameters and that their account is kept compliant and up to date at all times.
  • Attend monthly standardisation meetings and monthly update meetings with the Workplace Curriculum Manager, as well as AMRC Training Centre training sessions.
  • Carry out duties, commensurate with the grade and post as directed by the Sheffield Forgemasters Workshop Manager.
