JOB SUMMARY
WEC Energy Group’s WIAF department is responsible for minimizing overall generation fuel costs and developing and implementing both short and long term energy plans to meet customer demand while effectively managing environmental goals, operational risk and market volatility. The WIAF team is looking for energetic, self-starters with strong analytical skills ready to pursue a career in the Energy sector, a complex industry which is continuously evolving– it takes a lot more than a flip of a switch to keep the lights on for our customers. Our company is transforming our generation fleet with the addition of new technologies and renewable assets while maintaining and ensuring reliability and resiliency.
As part of this cohesive team, this position provides key analytical and expert energy market support for high profile and key WEC initiatives and provides a great opportunity for growth and development. This position works with team members to support the company’s electric utilities and non-regulated generation assets, which includes near-term fuel plan cost modeling, transmission and energy market analysis, long-term energy resource planning and supporting regulatory filings with state and federal commissions, and interfaces across all areas within the company, Senior Management and regulatory agencies.
This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineering Specialist, Engineering Specialist, and Senior Engineering Specialist) where experience will be the determining factor.
