JOB SUMMARY:

Analyze and generate metrics that help Service Areas identify and mitigate reliability issues. Produce and verify data on the Service Area Metric Report, Worst Circuits Report, CEMI4, 300% and 10% Reports, prior to delivery of these reports on a weekly or monthly basis. Maintain important documentation around reliability data, such as Storm Reports and Benefit of Automation. Use SQL and Tableau toolsets to support internal, external, and regulatory requests for outage analytics.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

  • Requires associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, computer programming, or relevant technical area.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in an engineering or electric utility environment.
  • Experience in database, SQL programming, or Tableau.2-4 years of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data collection, reporting systems, and engineering drawings on corporate mainframe and computer-based systems with a focus on improving the efficiency of work processes and keeping data systems current.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of distribution system, such as 12kV, 35kV, MUG pad mount, Underground Residential Development, Street Lights.
  • Works with multiple departments, customers, outside consulting firms, and other utilities to gather information to execute projects accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Use SAP to lookup Distribution work orders, such as completion date, cost, and other relevant information.
  • Provide outage analytics & statistical reports to management using Excel, VBA macros, and similar tools.
  • Perform database querries with SQL programming.
  • Design, code, document and develop Tableau dashboards for reporting purposes.
  • Interface with inspectors, construction personnel, engineers, attorneys, and management regarding inspection, rehabilitation, reliability, and R&D issues.
  • Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy’s Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
