About the job Engineering Superintendent (Mining / Civil) About the Role JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Superintendent to support field execution on active mining and construction projects. This is a site-based, camp, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) role responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction activities across complex mining and heavy civil infrastructure. The Engineering Superintendent will provide both field leadership and technical oversight, ensuring engineering designs are practical, optimized, and executed effectively in the field. This role acts as a critical bridge between engineering, construction, contractors, and project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and technically sound project delivery in remote environments. Key aspects of this role include: Strong technical engineering capability combined with field leadership Bridging engineering design and construction execution Supporting complex mining and civil scopes across remote project environments Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive practical solutions The JDS Way All employees are expected to promote and adhere to: Accept No Mediocrity Conduct Business Professionally, Ethically, and Practically Be True to Our Word Uphold the Highest Standards of Leadership, Teamwork, and Accountability Maintain Open and Honest Communication Ensure No Harm to People, the Environment, Assets, or Reputation Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise engineering and construction execution activities on site Provide technical oversight to ensure field work aligns with engineering intent, specifications, and project standards Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Coordinate with engineering teams, construction crews, contractors, and project stakeholders Support planning, work packaging, scheduling, and short-term execution planning Identify technical risks and develop practical, field-driven solutions Ensure quality, productivity, and schedule adherence across all work fronts Monitor contractor performance and support field coordination efforts Support constructability reviews and engineering-to-field integration Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on field conditions Conduct field inspections, safety observations, hazard assessments, and incident investigations Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, progress tracking, and field updates Support QA/QC processes, inspections, and turnover coordination Assist with material tracking, logistics coordination, and construction readiness planning Ensure all work aligns with company policies, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
