Location:
This position is located at our (corporate office / property XXXXX) in (Place), (Country).
Overview:
The responsibility of the Engineering Supervisor is the maintenance and upkeep of all areas within the hotel and entire property. All areas of the resort should be maintained in proper working order.
Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Attend meetings and briefings when Chief Engineer is not available.
  • Ensure that all departmental reports and correspondence are completed punctually and accurately.
  • Assist with development of policies within the maintenance department as needed.

Personnel

  • Ensure all employees report for work punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
  • Assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and development.
  • Assist with departmental orientation programs for new employees to ensure they understand the policies and operations of the resort.
  • Ensure that all staff provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • Counsel staff members for any breaches of conduct and observe policies when issuing formal disciplinary notice.
  • Operational
  • Constantly review and appraise the procedures with the department to ensure a high level of productivity at all times.
  • Monitor the staff skills within the department and plan training program to rectify any service deficiencies.
  • Conduct regular briefings with the department staff ensuring good communications at all times.
  • Ensure that overtime within the department is minimized and authorized.
  • Evaluate staffing levels in accordance with business demand, providing recommendations for adjustments whenever possible.
  • Any other duties as directed by management.

  • Wood floor installation and refinishing.
  • Pool and spa maintenance.
  • Snow removal.
  • Garbage pickup.
  • Heating and cooling system maintenance.
  • Wood burning and gas fireplace maintenance.
  • Cleanliness and all proper maintenance of facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Need to be well rounded in maintenance and construction
  • Knowledge of electrical maintenance, boilers, and heating and cooling systems.
  • At least 2 years previous management experience.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, including overnight shifts, as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
  • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances.
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work together with other colleagues and maintain professional working relationships. Any relationships that could potentially pose a conflict of interest should be disclosed to HR and may require a written disclosure.
