  • Technical bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 15 years of experience in a relevant engineering environment.
  • 5 years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Excellence in the use of personal computer and MS Office
  • Ability to draft reports and technical documents
  • Excellent knowledge of Solidworks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage technical projects for product improvement and development of new products
  • Knowledge of the English language at C1 level minimum

Responsibilities

The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • To manage the department personnel during their design activities.
  • Ensuring that specifications and deadlines are met
  • Identifying potential inefficiencies and suggesting possible improvements
  • Implementing the procedures applicable to the Department
  • Participating in the process of selecting and onboarding of new coworkers
  • To control and monitor the loading and flow of the work in the Design Engineering Department.
  • To ensure appropriate checks are carried out on all designs prior to final release to customers or production.
  • To ensure that the department work within the guidelines of the company quality procedures.
  • To liaise with customers and all other departments providing technical assistance and advice required.
  • Identify appropriate KPI’s for the department and individuals.
  • To work efficiently and conscientiously with all personnel and to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • To identify the training needs of the staff and make recommendations for appropriate training/development.
  • Provide effective engineering material science support into both the design and engineering function and the production process environments
  • Any other reasonable engineering activity or investigation or design request
  • To become familiar with the detailed procedures associated with design processes outlined in the company procedures
  • To back up any information that is on any local drives and ensure that any project and business data is stored on an appropriate central server
  • To record and keep all relevant emails (sent or received) in a file structure that can be easily understood by a third party
  • Check in and record any drawing/part data in the appropriate system and maintain the use of the correct part numbering systems.
  • To use any change control system that is appropriate to the work
  • To maintain both design and drafting standards to any appropriate national or international system and to work at all times within the companies approvals as appropriate.
  • All time strive to maintain a current knowledge of all relevant engineering technologies application and manufacturing process pertinent to all of the product range.
  • To strive to identify, and report on, any value added improvement to the design and production processes.
  • To liaise with and provide support to all manufacturing departments, including the shop floor, in the implementation and commissioning of any product. This shall include direct assembly commissioning and or test / inspection work as required and the provision of jig tools and fixtures.
  • To attend as directed any appropriate vocational training, trade shows or other public events.
  • To directly support the sales, purchasing or operations staff, as required, in their relations with customers and or suppliers. (this may include occasional travel).
