Description
Position Overview:  The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the engineering and maintenance department at Edgewood Tahoe Resort. This role ensures that all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics to provide exceptional guest experience. The supervisor will manage a team of technicians, coordinate maintenance projects, and uphold the resort’s commitment to luxury, sustainability, and operational excellence.    Key Responsibilities:  * Supervise and coordinate maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and structural systems function optimally.  * Conduct regular inspections of resort facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, pools, kitchens, and back-of-house areas, to identify and address maintenance needs.  * Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations.  * Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, including OSHA, fire codes, and local building laws.  * Collaborate with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage) to address facility-related guest concerns.  * Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance asset longevity.  * Supervise and train maintenance technicians, ensuring they adhere to resort standards and best practices.  * Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence within the department.  * Oversee procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency.  * Ensure all maintenance work is performed discreetly and efficiently to uphold the resort’s luxury guest experience.  * Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.  Qualifications and Skills:  * Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.  * Minimum of 5 years in engineering or maintenance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a luxury hospitality setting.  * Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, fire safety, energy management, and building automation systems.  * Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a high-end hospitality environment.  * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to handle technical and operational challenges.  * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, and management.  Physical Requirements:  * Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 50 lbs.  * Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
