Officially named The Chancery Rosewood, the new hotel will realize Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ signature A Sense of Place® philosophy, which takes the local sensibilities of a destination to inform the property experience provided there, in myriad ways, including expert-led design and décor. Balancing the rich history of the iconic building with contemporary comforts prioritized by today’s luxury traveler, the hotel will showcase architecture restoration by British architect Sir David Chipperfield of David Chipperfield Architects and interiors by French architect Joseph Dirand

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Supervisor plays a pivotal role at The Chancery Rosewood by ensuring the seamless operation of all engineering systems and infrastructure in both the pre-opening and opening phases. Reporting into the Assistant Director of Engineering, this role balances technical expertise with effective team management to deliver a flawless guest experience. Key responsibilities of the role include overseeing daily maintenance operations, spearheading preventive measures, and troubleshooting technical issues promptly. The role is also heavily involved in sustainability initiatives, budget management, and safety compliance.

  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day maintenance, engineering services and upkeep of the hotel as it pertains to facility, associates, and guests, under the direction of the Engineering management.Take charge of onboarding and development of all new and existing department associates. This includes the planning of training courses, to include 15 min training, and the training of other members of the staff. In addition, utilize resources from the Engineering Training Library and of outside vendors and sources, to assist associates in their development and advance your own development too. Participate in Corporate and Property Training as directed by Engineering Management. Set an example of continuous self-development.
  • Analyse challenges and formulate plans to get work done quickly including procurement of materials, parts, etc., and scheduling arrangements with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (i.e., Lockout Tagout and Risk assessments), Safety Awareness information (such as MSDS and COSSH) operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, logs and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and to groups of associates.
  • Manage repair and maintenance project and building improvements by effectively coordinating and planning all tasks in advance of beginning any project, utilizing all possible resources and coordinating efforts with engineering and other affected departments.
  • Direct supervision and scheduling of the work force in line with the On Track System, allocated budgets and business requirements.
  • Taking full ownership of all preventive maintenance programs, reporting and record-keeping tools, work orders and inventories, and reporting any issues to the Engineering management team.
  • Managing accident prevention and safety in close liaison with the Security Manager and Director of Security.
  • Monitoring energy conservation and devising strategies aimed at maximising energy conversation.
