Description MetalTek International is looking for a hands-on Engineering Technician to support the development and production of customer castings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem solving, working with drawings and specifications, and partnering with production teams to turn customer requirements into efficient manufacturing processes. In this role, you will help develop production plans, routings, tooling requirements, bills of material, and process instructions that balance customer needs, shop floor capabilities, quality expectations, and competitive cost targets. You will work closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, vendors, and production employees to support new product launches, improve existing processes, and ensure instructions are clear, accurate, and followed. What You’ll Do Assist with manufacturing plans for customer castings based on drawings, specifications, and cost requirements. Support new product development, including estimating, routing, tooling, rigging design, sampling, and production release. Review repeat products and help update processes, tooling, or instructions as needed. Serve as a technical resource between Engineering, Sales, Operations, vendors, and the shop floor. Create and communicate clear work instructions and processing requirements. Support tooling construction, modification, repair, and sample processing. Conduct shop floor audits to help ensure process compliance, quality, and efficiency. Assist with tooling cost justification, customer design change requests, and deviation requests. Work with vendors on tooling design, pricing, and manufacturing requirements. Requirements What We’re Looking For Associate degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, industrial technology, mechanical design, materials technology, or a related technical field required. Experience in foundry, casting, machining, tooling, or metal manufacturing preferred. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, routings, bills of material, and technical documents. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills. Ability to balance quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and shop floor teams. Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
