Description
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Tech /Communication Equipment Installer for our customer site in North Charleston, SC to support MADIS (Marine Air Defense Integrated System) program to install cable, mounting kits and other equipment in JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle), Polaris MRZR, Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV), and Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV). Job Description: Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts Required Education and Experience: Associate degree in engineering technology, or formal electronics training from: Technical School, Class A or B Military school in electronics or communications; or High School and 4 years of related experience Required Experience: Must have appropriate experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of digital computers, computer peripheral/ interface equipment, VME based systems, digital, switches, radio frequency transmitters, receivers, antennas, and modems Required Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust US Citizenship is required to meet the security requirements for this contract Active CAC card is desirable.
Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician will support engineering activities including design, testing, and troubleshooting of communication equipment. Responsibilities also include installation of cables and equipment in various military vehicles.
